Reliability on the Move: Built to Support the World’s Hardest-Working Ground Crews

Harlan Global Manufacturing

In the fast-paced world of ground support, consistency isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity. For over five decades, Harlan Global Manufacturing has been building tow tractors that keep the world moving. From airports to manufacturing plants, military bases, and distribution centers, Harlan’s equipment has become a cornerstone of reliability, strength, and performance.

Since producing its first tow tractor in the 1960s, Harlan has delivered over 15,000 units across 90 countries — each one a testament to the company’s dedication to craftsmanship and long-term support. Designed, manufactured, and serviced entirely in-house from our 167,000 sq. ft. facility in Kansas City, Kansas, every Harlan vehicle reflects the precision, care, and commitment of American manufacturing.

Versatility in Motion: The HT Classic

Among Harlan’s most trusted workhorses, the HT Classic stands as a symbol of proven performance and adaptability. Available in gasoline, diesel, LPG, and lithium-electric configurations, the HT Classic is designed to handle demanding ground operations day in and day out — whether on the tarmac, in a warehouse, or behind the scenes at one of the nation’s busiest airports.

Built with heavy-duty dual steer axles for stability, regenerative braking for energy efficiency, and optional lithium-ion technology for quiet, low-maintenance operation, the HT Classic brings flexibility to every fleet. And because Harlan designs and manufactures its tractors from the ground up — not just assembles them — we can tailor each build to match specific operational needs.

From drawbar pulls of 3,000 to 10,000 lbs, to custom lighting, coupler configurations, and advanced HMI control systems, the HT Classic adapts seamlessly to any ground support environment.

Driven by Innovation: The Power of Lithium

Every ground support environment is different — from high-traffic hubs with around-the-clock operations to regional airports with mixed-use fleets. That’s why Harlan continues to offer a full range of power options, including gasoline, diesel, LPG, and lithium-electric.

While combustion engines remain an important part of our product line — providing unmatched endurance and easy refueling for demanding schedules — the industry’s future is unmistakably electric. Harlan has been at the forefront of that transition for over a decade.

Our lithium-powered lineup, led by the TransCon and APV, brings a new standard of efficiency and reliability to ground handling. Designed, built, and supported by the same Kansas City team that’s powered Harlan tractors for over fifty years, these electric models deliver the performance operators expect with none of the compromises.

TransCon — A heavy-duty electric workhorse built for continuous-duty operations. Featuring Harlan’s integrated AC drive axle, patented differential reduction system, and regenerative braking, the TransCon maximizes torque and uptime while minimizing maintenance and energy use.

APV (All Purpose Vehicle) — Compact and responsive, the APV is built for agility in tight ramp or warehouse environments. Its lithium-ion powertrain provides quiet, zero-emission operation, with extended runtime and simplified service compared to traditional fuel engines.

Both models use Harlan’s advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology for real-time performance feedback, diagnostics, and battery management — ensuring predictable, efficient operation every shift.

Together, Harlan’s lithium-electric and fuel engine tractors give operators the power to choose — pairing sustainability and innovation with the proven durability Harlan has built its reputation on.

A Partner in Performance

Harlan’s advantage extends far beyond our equipment. With our OEM manufacturing capabilities, we supply parts for over 100 original equipment manufacturers, ensuring continuity and value across the entire GSE lifecycle. Our ISO 9001:2015-certified processes, extensive aftermarket parts inventory, and responsive technical support keep fleets operational — and downtime to a minimum.

Whether it’s a new tractor or a replacement axle, our Kansas City distribution hub ensures quick delivery and complete traceability from factory to flight line.

Built to Keep You Moving - Wherever You’re Headed

In aviation, timing is everything — and the tractors behind every successful turn are part of that precision dance. Harlan’s mission has always been to exceed expectations by building durable, dependable equipment that supports those who keep passengers and cargo moving safely and efficiently.

From classic combustion engines to next-generation lithium powertrains, Harlan continues to engineer the kind of lasting performance that partners like Southwest Airlines and other industry leaders depend on.

Because when reliability takes flight, it starts on the ground.
